The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
Chartered by a unanimous act of the United States Congress in 1980, the United States Memorial Museum honors the memory of those who suffered and died in the Holocaust. Through its exhibitions and educational programs, the Museum also educates Americans about the Holocaust, in the hope that -- by dispelling ignorance and fear -- genocide might become forever a thing of the past.
Since its opening in April 1993, the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum has welcomed more than 9 million visitors. The Museum is located at 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place, S.W., Washington, D.C. 20024-2150. The Museum's website at www.ushmm.org includes online exhibits and other educational resources.
